Supporting our Manukau Community
Our All Heart Store Manukau is a thriving hub, providing a circular solution for corporate waste. as well as supporting many teams of volunteers who gain work experience through the operations. This includes gaining experience in retail and customer service in All Heart Store, as well as warehouse management and logistics through our freight and deliveries. We are grateful to our referral partners including On Demand Logistics, Corrections, Active+, Ember Korowai, Volunteering Auckland and several local colleges.
All Heart Stores also exist to support their local community and Manukau is often asked to support local events or causes. One example is the inaugural Kōtiro (Girls) Festival Day run by Sport Waitakere, when Year 5 and 6 girls from a number of West Auckland schools were offered up a smorgasbord of fun activities and events to tempt their tastebuds. The 11 schools were given the opportunity to experience a range of different sport and physical activities, in order to help students find an activity they love.
Whau Cluster Coordinator at Sport Waitākere, Amber Craig, says: “We wanted to reach out to girls who are not currently involved in sport and recreation and introduce them to activities they may have never tried…. and to bring in people who can inspire these kōtiro to grow and develop into amazing wāhine”. All Heart Store Manukau was able to provide stationery and other items to help fill gift packs for the students, for which they were very grateful.
We are thankful for the local funders of our Manukau site including Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board and COGS Manukau (Community Organisation Grants Scheme). Their support means we can continue to provide many rangatahi with volunteering opportunities and work experience as well as reaching out to our community.
As we embark on a new financial year, All Heart NZ is poised at the threshold of a transformative period. Our leadership team, recognizing the pivotal moment, recently dedicated an entire day to strategic planning.
A couple of months have elapsed since an event that instilled an immense sense of pride and joy across the All Heart NZ team.
It’s with a spirit of celebration that All Heart NZ presents our first impact report of the year, a testament to the meaningful strides in sustainability and community enrichment we’ve achieved together.
