How we prevented thousands of DVD Safes ending up in our Landfills
Removing metal strips and stickers mean this hard-to-recycle item can then be suitably recycled rather than sent to landfill. This is an example of our corporate partner doing the right thing and not just adding to our landfills, already full of corporate and construction waste.
This also creates living wage employment for a number of amazing people – some of whom started as volunteers and are now gainfully employed.
As a result, our corporate partner is also redesigning their procurement practices to ensure this type of item is no longer even brought into our system.
