Creating Employment and Training

Whilst the last 6 months have been challenging it’s good to celebrate the success stories. All Heart Stores create opportunities for employment, training and volunteering. Our Manukau store has engaged many teams of volunteers, usually rangatahi (young people) seeking to gain work experience. With our community partners referring these teams we can provide meaningful roles to gain experience in warehousing, deliveries, logistics and retail management. Our Stores also provide employment opportunities where skills are developed and our people can grow and learn.

We are particularly grateful for the support of our local funders for our Manukau Store – both Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board and COGS Manukau (Community Organisation Grants Scheme).
